Waitematā Hui for Health
North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital are among the worst-staffed and worst-resourced hospitals in the country. West and North Aucklanders are all feeling the impact. We need to act now. We are inviting West and North Aucklanders to join us for a community hui on the state of crisis in our health system.
As nurses and health care assistants working at Waitematā Health District, we see the impacts of health underfunding every day. We work in unsafe conditions, without the staff or resources to meet patient needs and see people and whānau fall through the widening gaps in our system with increasing frequency. Our GPs have no capacity or ability to care for our communities.
This is not inevitable or normal, it is the result of political decisions.
We are fighting for a fully funded culturally appropriate public health system that meets the needs of all New Zealanders. Join us and let's make our voices heard!
