In late 2022 NZNO canvassed members working in General Practice and/or for Plunket for their stories illustrating the need for Pay Parity. Some were written just before the Government announced new funding towards Pay Parity for nurses outside of Te Whatu Ora (excluding HC and Plunket employees), and some were written just after it.

The stories reflect these nurses’ and health workers’ feelings about how they’re valued and how not receiving the same pay as Te Whatu Ora workers affects the services their workplace can provide to communities. Unfortunately then Health Minister Andrew Little's office did not respond to two requests to meet and share the booklet with him.
