Across Aotearoa, communities are deeply worried about the state of our health system. People are worried about the lack of resourcing to support the health workforce, including nurses, midwives and health care assistants.

Let's get behind the Patient Voice Aotearoa petition and show the Government New Zealanders are united around the call to fix our health system.

With NZNO members are preparing for more strike action at Te Whatu Ora in September, the petition is a powerful way to demonstrate that communities are behind nurses, midwives and HCAs in our fight for a health system that meets the needs of our patients.

NZNO backs the Buller Declaration organised by Patient Voice Aotearoa and calling on Government to urgently fix our health service. Now the declaration has been turned into a petition to collect the maximum number of signatures before it is presented to Parliament on 18 November.

Together with Patient Voice Aotearoa and the broader community, let's pull out the stops and ensure thousands of people sign this petition

Let's send a crystal clear message to the politicians - fix our health system!

It's time to:

  • Join our community allies at Parliament at 1pm on 18 November to present the Buller Declarations and the petition

Is the petition for members or the community?
The petition is for everybody who cares about our health system. The more people who sign the petition the better.

Is it more effective to use a hard copy or online version?
Both! Take a hard copy with you to social and sports events and circulate. Share the online version on social media and follow up. Hard copies of the petition can be downloaded here.

What about the Buller Declaration?
If there is a Declaration in your area, continue to support it. The petition has been developed to organise around the principles of the Buller Declaration with a clear ask to the House of Representatives.

What if I’ve already signed the Buller Declaration?
No need to sign both, but focus on getting others to sign the petition.
